2000 dancers from 88 companies working with 300 dance professionals will gather in Montreal next spring for the 3rd RDA National Festival.  During the Festival’s 5 days the dancers will take classes in various dance genres, participate in seminars and workshops. Each night they will attend a performance by companies from the 5 RDA regions, each presenting a work especially choreographed for them.  Most importantly, the dancers will have the opportunity to inspire and be inspired by those who also love to dance!

ADT opens 25th Anniversary Season with Holiday Productionof ‘Mistletoe’” Montgomery, Alabama From the Company that brought you “Peter Pan” and “The Little Mermaid,” the Alabama Dance Theatre will open its 25th Anniversary Season with Montgomery’s holiday production of “Mistletoe,” featuring the beloved classic “A Christmas Carol.” Performances will be held on November 19 and 20 at The Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts, with over 120 dancers and artists participating in this year’s elaborate production of “A Christmas Carol” and “Favorite Dances of Christmas.” “Favorite Dances of Christmas,” a collage of dances set to beautiful Christmas carols and songs will feature the return of audience favorites, including “Sleighride,” and “Little Drummer Boy,” as well as new works such as “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” dedicated to our military families and personnel.Resident Choreographer Sara Sanford will bring back by popular demand the much beloved classic Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” with original music by Carl Davis and live music selections by the Montgomery Youth Chorale.Sponsors for Mistletoe include Merrill Lynch, Jim Wilson and Associates, Pickwick Antiques, along with Cumulus, WSFA, housing sponsor Fairfield Inn and Suites, and the Alabama State Council on the Arts.            Performances are Saturday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. at The Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts. Tickets go on sale Monday, October 31 and range in price from $15 to $30. Reserved and general admission ticketsare available at the Armory Learning Arts Center by calling the ADT Ticket line at 334-241-2800. ** The Alabama Dance Theatre and Troy University will host a special performance in honor of our Military Friday, November 18, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the Davis Theatre.
